Rules and regulations of blackjack
Blackjack is played using 1 to 8 ordinary decks of cards, with cards of rank 2 to 10 are scored according to their original value. All face cards are given 10 points where as aces are semi-wild and could be considered as 1 or 11points. The premier cards in blackjack have an ace or any 10-point cards and are considered the highest hand. This combination is called the blackjack. Besides blackjack, the winning hand pays even money. Payout is at the player's side if his hand has greater number of point than the dealer without exceeding the amount of 21 points. Hence, 21-points could be considered the greatest card, which gives this game a synonym of 21. Whichever player or dealer which exceeds the amount of 21 points will be busted, however, the advantage is on the house's side. If the player and dealer tie, the bet will be pushed.
The game in blackjack is initiated with each player betting in the circle or logo just in front of him/her. Dealer will distribute himself and the player 2 cards each. Player cards are usually dealt facing upwards, where as for the dealer's cards, one card will face up, and another will be faced downwards. The dealer who has a 10 or an ace as the up as could means that there is a possibility that he has a blackjack, and a blackjack would render the other players losing money expect for the player will the similar total points which is the blackjack. Conversely, if the dealer checks for blackjack immediately, he will collect all the losing bets instantly if he does own a blackjack.
In instances where the dealer has an ace up, he will allow players to insure their hands against the blackjack, which is similar to an insurance policy where you are insured on something that you are likely to lose. The insured bet pays 2:1 if the dealer has a blackjack. Consequently, if the dealer has an ace showing up, he will prompt the players for an "event" money upon seeing that a player has a blackjack as if the player has a blackjack the net result of both the blackjack and the insurance bet will be an even money win regardless of whether the dealer has a blackjack. After all players have had a chance to accept or decline the insurance, the dealer will check the hole card. After which the dealer has confirmed that he/she does not have a blackjack, players have the following options:
STAND:
Players are happy with the cards on his/her hands and wish to stand. A hand symbol for this stand sign would be waving your hand against the dealer prompting the dealer to move through you. In a single deck game, cards are to be tucked facing downwards under your bet.
HIT:
Players can take another cards to supplement his/her current 2 cards until he/she stands or busts. Hand symbol for this action would be to tap the table with your finger. In a single deck of game, the cards are scraped lightly.
DOUBLE:
Players only need 1 more card, and could then double up his/her bets. Doubling is valid for the first 2 cards, and occasionally on the first two cards after splitting. To show that you wish to double, place another wager next to your original wager of equal value. In single deck, place your cards face up by your bet.
SPLIT:
Players who have 2 cards of equal points may choose to split them into 2 hads. In such an occasion, each card is the first card of a new hand. Player must take another wager or similar value to the first wager, for the second hand. Splitting, after splitting is allowed, however, resplitting aces are exceptions. To signify you wish to split put the additional wager next to the original wager. In single deck, place your cards face up by your bet.
SURRENDER:
Certain casinos offer a surrender option to players who do not like his 2 cards, and wished to forfeit half his/her bets. A "late surrender" is called when the dealer has a 10 or an ace showing while the dealer peeks at his hole card for a blackjack before the first player's turn. An "early surrender" happens when the dealer does not check for blackjack or does not take a hole card at all, and this type of surrender is more advantageous to the player as there is protection against a dealer blackjack.
After all players have players from the dealer's clock-wise position, from left to right, dealer will play his hand. Dealer must hit a score until he/she reaches 17 points or more as he/she has no free will and must play according to house rules. Other players win if the dealer busts.
