Introduction to Baccarat Deemed as one of the pioneers, being the oldest and most popular games in casinos worldwide, Baccarat attracts players from all walks of life gathering people from various countries. Extremely prominent in Macau, Baccarat is a fairly simple game. Rules Baccarat is usually placed at a corner, alienating itself from the other types of games. Players are smartly dresses and table minimums are abundant. A regular baccarat table is about the size of a craps table with 3 dealers and comprises up to 14 players with each player betting on either the player or the banker. Most dealers will bet on banker, however, the choices are up the players. Deal commences with a rotation around the table. If a player chooses not to deal, he/she could pass it to the next player. The same player will do the dealing as long as the banker wins. The dealing player will place the 2 cards facing downwards and give the player with the greatest bet on the player with the other 2 cards facing downwards as well. The same player with greatest bet then looks a the card and pass them back to the dealing player which then turn over the cards and the totals will be announced by one of the casino dealers. The casino dealers will prompt the dealing player for a third depending on the totals. Consequently, the dealers will pay winning wagers and got the losing wagers out of the dealer's tray. The dealing player assumes no responsibility on the other player's bets and only serves to turn over the cards. Summary Baccarat is player with 8 decks of card. -Point values are as follows, Ace=1, 2-9=pip value, 10 and face cards=0 -Starting a new shoe, dealer turns over 1 card to determine the number of cards will be burnt, and according to the point values, a 10 or face cards will results in 10 cards burnt. -The cut card will be placed at a level 16 cards from the show bottom. When the cut card is seen, the dealer finishes that hand, play another 1 more than and then start a new shoe. Conversely, if the cut card is seen instead of the first card, the dealer will finish that hand, and starts a new shoe. -The game begins with players betting either on the "banker", "player" or a tie. Certain tables allows betting on the player pair and banker pair. -Once all the bets are finalised, the dealer distributed 2 cards to the player and banker, afterwhich the score of the hand is the right digit of the total of the card. -A third card may or may not be dealt depending on the total scores and the game rules as such: a)either the player or banker has a total of an 8 or 9, where they both stand. This rule overrides all other rules. b)the player's total is 5 or less, then the player hits, otherwise the player stands. c)If the player stands, then the banker hits on a total of 5 or less. If the player does hit then use the chart below to determine if the banker hits (H) or stands (S). The scores among the player and banker are seen and compared with the winner holding a greater number. Winning bets on the banker pay 19 to 20 (or even money less a 5% commission), winning bets on the player pay 1 to 1, winning bets on a tie usually pay 8 to 1. In the event of a tie, banker and player bets will push. -the player will be paid even amount of money if the winning is on the banker bets. On the other hand, the dealer will keep track of the 5% commission owed with small laminated markers. At the end of each shoe, or when a player wants to leave, the dealer will collect all commissions owed.
